As per the need of 21st Century Skill enhancement for students ( like Critical Thinking, Problem solving, Design Thinking ,Collaboration, Communication , Life long Learning ) , New National Educational Policy and Industry 4.0 to promote inter-disciplinary innovation and research amongst different departments of the college to foster innovation / creativity among students and faculty and also made available all the facilities of IDEA LAB to the Students and Faculty from other colleges and Schools in the surrounding region of our college.
Our institute will act as host institute to extend mentoring and IDEA LAB facilities to surrounding colleges and schools in our region.
The main objective of IDEA LAB is to fulfill the term used by our Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modi ji “Atmanirbhar Bharat” which translates to 'self-reliant India' or 'self-sufficient India' that leads to “Making India” with an mission statement of this scheme is “Step in with an idea, Step out with a prototype or product”.
As our College located in rural area , it is possible to identify and address the societal problems and challenges in rural areas and also possibility of finding solutions through IDEA LAB to fulfill the concept of “Atmanirbhar Bharat”.

IDEA LAB creates the platform for innovation and research to students and faculty with hands-on experience with the latest equipment to in order to develop new projects and offer live internships with the industry support . Networking with nearby colleges and Industry and to make best use of this resource and share best practices on enhancing employability skills training like Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Block chain, Robotics (Drones, Underwater Vehicle), Quantum Computing, Data Science, Cyber Security, 3D Printing & Design, Augmented Reality (AR)/ Virtual Reality (VR) etc.,
Multidisciplinary research is an exploration to a problem for ascertaining the hypothesis combining many academic approaches, fields or methods with the help of specialized branches of learning which aims at achieving a common aim with the aid of knowledge of other disciplines. Our College Faculty and Students are already involved in interdisciplinary innovative projects like Cloud based EV Charger, SRKR IoT learning kit , Smart Toilet, Smart Glass For Visual Impaired, Smart Health Care System, Vein Finder, Smart Oral Care ( Oral Cancer Detection ) etc., We involve our faculty and students from different departments and people from other surrounding institutes to promote Multidisciplinary education , innovation and research takes place through IDEA Lab to work independently on a common problem . The existing facilities of S.R.K.R Engineering College like 14 Excellence Centres ,I-Hub Incubation centre, Technology Centre , Entrepreneurship Development Cell , MSME Business Incubation Centre , Dassaults 3-D Experience Centre , CM Skills Excellence Centre , WET Centre , ARC Lab, Innovation Centres of each department and in house Startup companies are more useful for creating better makers space for the proposed IDEA Lab. SRKR Engineering College established i-Hub (Innovation, Incubation, Industry) in 2015 with an aim to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty of SRKR Engineering College.
